Rules As well as the Terms and Conditions, there are also rules that users must follow. These rules apply throughout the site wherever applicable, including forums and Cyomail. If a user fails to follow these rules, they will receive a warning or be frozen. Users have up to 5 Warning Level points, and if this amount is reached or exceeded, the user's account will be frozen. Spamming Although there are forums for non-Cyopets conversations, there is a fine-line which is not to be crossed, called spamming. These things include the following actions: -Conversations within threads that do not concern the main topic. -Multiple topics which concern the same ideas. -Sympathy threads are not to be on Cyopets. If your relative or pet died, please grieve with your family, not with strangers. -Advertising other websites, particularly pet ones. Why would you want to be on any other site than Cyopets? -Chain letters do not work, they are just an attempt to annoy people and spam up the forums. Do not pass them on. They are spam. (Warning Level = 1) Begging Every user has worked for his or her own items and Cyopoints themselves. Please, do not ask for them for free just because you are too poor to afford them. There are ways that you can earn your own money and start saving up for that potion you want. Begging is only wasting the time and effort you should be spending on earning money! (Warning Level = 2) Offensive Content Do not post any content that discriminates any person for their religion, political views, race, gender or sexual orientation. Harassing another user even after they tell you to stop, or posting sexual comments will also result in a warning or freezing. Swearing is not allowed, so watch your mouth and keep your temper. Cyopets will not tolerate any of this. (Warning Level = 3-4) Scamming Attempting to steal someone's password, items, or Cyopoints will result in an immediate freezing. Never enter any private information on any website other than cyopets.com despite the promises that are made. Any user who posts a link to a website that asks for passwords will be frozen. Nobody needs your password except for you, so keep it to yourself, and never give it out despite the claims. Cyopets administrators and moderators will NEVER ask for your password. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Always watch out for scammers, and use your best judgment before giving them anything. (Warning Level = 5) Abusing Glitches Abusing a glitch is when you discover a glitch that profits you in some way, but you do not report it. If you find any thing that was not made intentional to profit you, you must report it to be fixed, and then have the profit be cleared. If, however, you do not report it, in hopes to keep the profit, and we find out, then you will receive the punishment. Do not risk your account to get easy profit, the odds are with us that we will discover it. (Warning Level = 4) Messenger Names Sharing of messenger names and email addresses is not allowed. Please contact each other over Cyomail, for your protection. Cyopets staff does not have any power over something that happens over instant messaging and email, and so sharing screen names and email addresses is prohibited. This includes AIM, MSN, YIM, and any other instant messaging program as well as all the varieties of email providers. (Warning Level = 2) Impersonating Staff All staff members are listed on the Staff page, which is located at the bottom of every page. On the forums, it will also say Moderator or Admin for a staff member. If it says User, then that person is just a User. Do not give them any private information. No staff member would ask you for it anyway. Staff members have been assigned jobs, do not argue with them, or else consequences will be taken. No user is to take control and moderate, we have hired people to do that. Giving out helpful advice and pointing out these rules in a kind manner is fine, however. Be respectful to all members. (Warning Level = 5) Multiple Accounts Users are allowed to have 1 account, and one account only. Side accounts of any sort are not allowed, as there is no reason for users to have other accounts. This also includes account sharing, which is not allowed. One user for one account only. If you are frozen, you are welcome to start again, as long as you read over the Terms and Conditions and these rules again, and take better note of them. Then hopefully you will not repeat what you were originally frozen for. (Warning Level = 2) If you see anything suspicious that the Cyopets team has not found, do not hesitate to contact us. Please play safely and abide by these rules, and you should be fine.
